❀ NVC & IFS (Internal Family Systems) with Daisy:

In this Advanced Course, we will deepen our practice of Nonviolent Communication while bringing in the perspective and practices of Internal Family Systems (IFS).

NVC has taught me a different way of relating to myself and others: moving away from right and wrong, blame and judgment, and towards feelings, needs, compassion and connection. IFS has added another layer to this journey by helping me understand the different parts within us: the parts that protect us, the parts that carry pain, and the parts that sometimes take over when we feel triggered, afraid or disconnected.

For me, NVC and IFS complement each other beautifully. Both invite us to meet what is alive within us with curiosity rather than judgment. Together, they offer a deeper understanding of our inner world while supporting us to stay connected with others, especially when relationships become challenging.

In this course, we will explore both our inner and relational worlds. We will practice listening to our parts, connecting with needs, entering deepering into giraffe consciousness (Self-energy), and bringing this awareness into empathy, honest expression, dialogue and conflict.

I’d be delighted to explore this with you.

Content

The Advanced Course- NVC & IFS is not a completely pre-designed course. I shape the sessions based on what is alive in the group, my inspiration, and requests from participants. This means that every Advanced Course can take a slightly different journey.

We will address topics such as:

❀ The Inner System & Parts – exploring the different parts within us and the roles they play.
❀ Working with Protective Parts – getting curious about the parts that step in to protect us and understanding their intentions and needs.
❀ Working with Vulnerable & Burdened Parts – gently meeting the parts of us that carry pain, fear, shame or old beliefs.
❀ Mourning – making space for grief and unmet needs, and exploring mourning as a pathway towards acceptance and connection
❀ Self-Energy, Giraffe & Jackal – exploring the relationship between IFS Self-energy and the NVC concepts of Giraffe and Jackal
❀ Healing Dialogue – clearing up the mess after conflict. How to reconnect after pain, loss of trust or tension?
❀ Transforming Enemy Images – moving beyond judgment and reconnecting with the humanity and needs underneath our stories about others.
❀ Parts & the Body – noticing how our parts show up in the body and using bodily awareness as a doorway to deeper self-connection.
❀ Parts & Their Needs – exploring the relationship between our parts and needs, and listening more deeply to what different parts of us are longing for
❀ Self-Connection & Self-Care – developing ways to stay connected with yourself and respond compassionately to what is alive within you
❀ Full Dialogue – practicing the movement between self-connection, honest expression and empathic listening in real conversations.
❀ Refining Empathy Skills – deepening our capacity to listen beyond words while remaining aware of our own inner responses
❀ And much more…

❀ The 'Living Compassion' course with Nadine:

Robert Gonzales, Trainer for NVC (CNVC), has dedicated his life to living compassion. In his approach to NVC he emphasizes connection to the living, vibrant energy that needs carry as a doorway into our soul. Our practice lies in cultivating a felt sense experience of their energy inside of us. I have learned with Robert since 2006 and the tools I received have benefited me deeply, particularly in moments of pain and disconnection.

What will we do in the 'Living Compassion' course?

During this course I would like to introduce you to the living energy of needs and help you develop concrete skills to transform obstacles to embracing life compassionately and connect with the beauty and fullness of needs by sharing:

❀ Exercises to allow a felt experience of the fullness of needs vs the lack.

❀  Concrete NVC based processes (e.g. Transforming the pain of unmet needs to the beauty of needs; Preparation for authentic dialogue) to add to your tool box for life.

❀  Contemplative practices like meditation and inquiries (alone and in pairs) that engage the heart and the felt sense of the body and can be used and established as an ongoing meditation practice in your life in order to live needs-based

❀  Time to get in touch with yourself as well as community time are an essential part of this course

I will mix in my own inspirations that I receive from mindfulness and yoga, neuroscientific approaches like Rick Hanson’s work, my training in Internal Family Systems work with inner parts  (IFS) and inspiration I receive from my NVC colleagues and friends.

I would enjoy if you want to join me in this exploration.

Learning style

You will be invited to work on examples from your own life in an interactive and safe learning environment. We will practice Nonviolent Communication through demonstrations, role-play and exercises in order to integrate NVC values and language more into our daily lives.
The way we teach is: 30% Theory and 70% of Practice/Demonstration/Learning from LIVE situations that are happening in the here and now. Our focus is very much on the Embodied aspect of ‘Nonviolent Communication’, so be ready to dive.

Extra support

Assistants: We will have assistants accompanying us during this course. They’ve already completed the Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Year Courses with us and some are engaged in their steps toward teaching/sharing NVC.
For the Living Compassion couse, the assistants have done Living Compassion work either with Nadine or Robert Gonzales or both.
For the ‘Living Compassion’ course, they have done Living Compassion work either with Nadine or with Robert Gonzales.

Desired Amount of Experience

The course is open to you if you’ve completed a minimum of 60 hours of NVC training, or have completed Connecting2life’s Basic and Intermediate Courses.

❤ Regarding Money
We wouldn’t want money to prevent anyone from learning NVC! We see money as a strategy to care for the sustainability of our giving. It’s important for us to have a sense of mutual contribution. ‘Receiving’ supports us in meeting our practical stability (money), as well as supports us emotionally to be in balance and keep our hearts open to more giving. While we stand firmly for our need of mutual contribution, we’re flexible about possible strategies on how to meet this need. Money is our preferred strategy, as it’s easy for us to transfer it to the exact things that contribute to us. That being said, if the amount we ask would prevent you from joining, we can offer the following:
1. If you’re coming from a country where the income/currency is lower than the prices in euros, we’re open to finding a price that makes sense and keeps hearts open.
2. If you’re currently having a challenging period financially, you can pay us at a later date when your finances are better. Sometimes people even pay us a few years later.
3. We’re open to brainstorming other ways you can contribute to us, though it’s not always easy to find things that both you would enjoy contributing and that would actually be contributing to us.

Materials:

At the end of each session, you will receive:
– A written summary of the session
– A Zoom recording of the session to view (not for download), available until 3 weeks after the course is over.

Your screenshot would be a great help in resolving the problem. Thank you!

2. Fill in the form below.

3. Complete the €90 non-refundable prepayment (To see the complete course fee click on the tab ‘Practical information’).

Regarding the remainder of the payment:  We ask that you pay the remainder of the course fees during the final week of the course, between the second-to-last session and the last session.
